Volume II of XIII only. Scarce work. A collection of religious tracts, dispersed by The Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, a UK-based Christian charity, now noted as the oldest Anglican mission organisation in the world. Founded in 1698 by Thomas Bray, it has worked for over three hundred years to increase awareness of the Christian faith across the world. This volume includes essays such as: Serious Caution Against the Dangerous Errors of he Anabaptists, Friendly Call to the Holy Communion, A Short Introduction to the Lord's Supper, On a Death-Bed Repentance, and The Christian Monitor, amongst others.
Condition
In the original full calf binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light loss to the extremities. Sympathetic repairs made with a clear plastic covering to the spine with paper sticker residue to the tail of the spine. Front hinge tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting and age toning to the extremities, with further spotting to the first and last few pages. A contemporary ink inscription and the binder's ink stamp to the front pastedown. Bound by J. Bird.
