'The Vision of Don Roderick' is a vivid poem celebrating the victories of the Duke of Wellington during the Peninsular War. It is based on a historic account of the consultation of an oracle by the last Visigothic King of Spain, Roderic. It is a panoramic poem, depicting various phases throughout the future of Spain.
Proceeds from the sale of this poem were intended to raise funds for Portugal.

Condition
Bound in full calf, with endpapers renewed and blanks retained. Bound without half title. Externally, sound, with a crack along each joint, held together by internal tape repair. Rubbing to the extremities, heavier to the spine, causing a little loss. The odd mark to leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with light spotting and the occasional handling mark.
