What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding

A wonderful collection of the poetical works of Dryden, complete in four volumes.

Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece to volume I.

Edited by John Warton and Joseph Warton, this is a wonderful collection of the poetical works of English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright who in 1668 was appointed England's first Poet Laureate.

Dryden is seen as dominating the literary life of Restoration England to such a point that the period came to be known in literary circles as the Age of Dryden.

Rebacked, retaining original calf boards, and with endpapers renewed.

Condition

Rebacked, retaining calf boards, and with endpapers renewed. A touch of rubbing to board perimeters, otherwise externally excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Offsetting and spotting to volume I title page, with pages otherwise generally clean and bright, with the odd light handling mark, and with instances of spotting to first and last few leaves of each volume.
