This is likely the inscription of Sir John Eardley Eardley-Wilmot, 1st Baronet, a British MP who served as Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania. He was the grandson of the subject of this work, and the son of the author of this work.
Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.
A biographical life of Sir John Eardley Wilmot, who served as Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas from 1766 to 1771 and was a member of the Privy Council. Written by his son, John Wilmot, it offers a personal and professional portrait, drawing on original letters to illustrate his legal career, public service, and private character.
Rebacked in morocco, retaining the original calf covered boards and endpapers.
With an errata leaf to the rear.

Rebacked in morocco, retaining the original calf covered board. Externally, exceptionally lovely, with small marks to front board. Retaining the original endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to title page head. Leaves lightly age toned, with instances of spotting and handling marks throughout, but especially concentrated to first and last few leaves.
