What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Maps, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Original Binding

The first edition to 'Dorset', later 'Sherwood, Neely, and Jones' editions to the other two volumes. All the works are scarce in all editions.

Three volumes bound into one. The work includes 'Topographical and Statistical Description of the County of Dorset', and 'Sussex' and 'Somerset'.

Illustrated with folding frontispiece maps to each volume. Collated, all folding maps present, but lacking all engraved plates, and the title page to 'Somerset'.

A fantastic collection of three very scarce topographical works from George Alexander Cooke. George Alexander Cooke provides a concise account of the geography, towns, economy, antiquities, and notable buildings of Sussex, Somerset and Dorset.

Undated. 'Dorset' has been dated by the publisher's address, which the British Museum lists as being their address up until 1792. The other two volumes are published by copies held institutionally.
