A collection of the letters of Pliny the Younger.
Pliny was a lawyer and magistrate of Ancient Rome. He wrote hundreds of letters during his life, but only two-hundred and forty-seven survive. Those surviving letters offer a great historical source. His letters are one of the only surviving records of the relationship between the imperial office and provincial governors.

Bookplate of Ken Tomkinson to the front paste down. Bookplate of John Farthing to the recto of the front endpaper.
