What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Very Scarce

The very scarce first edition.

A pamphlet exploring the high price of gold bullion in England as it was at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Written as a series of letters of Thomas Thompson, who believed that the shortfall in exports was to blame for the shortage of bullion, and not the excessive issue of banknotes.

An important work.

By John Hill.

Collated, bound without page 145 to 152, and the frontispiece.

Condition

Disbound, with a worn calf backstrip. Internally, firmly bound, however page 143/144 is detached but present. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with light handling marks and spots. Small chip to the title page.
