A twenty-one volume collection of Scott's works, including two complete first edition works, being the second and third series of 'Tales of My Landlord'.

The 1817 seventh edition of 'Waverley', complete in three volumes.

The 1817 fourth edition of 'Guy Mannering', complete in three volumes.

The 1818 fifth edition of 'The Antiquary', complete in three volumes.

The 1818 first edition, first issue of 'Tales of My Landlord, Second Series', complete in four volumes. With the misspelling of "Wichtcraft" in Volume II on page 52, and page 348 misnumbered in Volume IV as 438. Todd & Bowden 122Aa.

The 1819 fifth edition of 'Tales of My Landlord, First Series', complete in four volumes.

The 1819 first edition, first issue, of 'Tales of My Landlord, Third Series', complete in four volumes. Todd & Bowden 135A. This includes the first publication 'The Bride of Lammermoor' and 'A Legend of Montrose'.

A wonderful set of early and first editions of a number of the best known and most celebrated novels of Scottish poet, novelist and critic Sir Walter Scott.

Condition

Rebacked, in full calf bindings, with original boards restored. Endpapers renewed. Lacking eleven spine labels, with a further eight partially lacking. Six boards detached but present. Five front joints and three rear joints starting, with boards firmly held. Eight boards tenderly held. Discolouration to five back strips. Volume I of fourth series significantly scorched to boards and back strip. Tide mark to front board of Tales first series, volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally lightly age toned, with the odd spot. Instances of foxing to first and last few leaves. Tide marks to perimeters of leaves of each volume of second series of Tales. Light tide marks to head of each leaf of Antiquary volume I.
