A wonderful collection of works of poetry from Sir Walter Scott, the Scottish novelist and poet best known for his 'Waverley' series of historical novels.

Uniformly bound in straight grain morocco, with gilt detailing and blind tooling.

Present here are:

The 1810 eleventh edition of 'The Lay of the Last Minstrel'. Retaining half title.

The 1811 seventh edition of 'Marmion: A Tale of Flodden Field'. Lacking the half title.

The 1812 fifth edition of 'Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border', complete in three volumes, and with a half title to each volume.

The 1813 fourth edition of 'Rokeby: A Poem', retaining half title.

With the armorial bookplate of Jane Dorothy Methuen to each front pastedown.

Condition

In straight grain morocco bindings, with gilt detailing and blind tooling. Externally, excellent. Back strips lightly age toned, with a touch of rubbing to joints, and with joint heads of Lay and Marmion starting, with boards firmly held. Front hinge of Minstrel strained and a touch tender. Armorial bookplates to front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with instances of spotting to perimeters of first and last few leaves to each volume.
