The works of John Wesley, the cleric, theologian, and evangelist who was a principal leader of the revival movement within the Church of England known as Methodism.
The name 'Methodist' was taken from "the methodical way in which they carried out their Christian faith".
Wesley remained a lifelong member of the Church of England, maintaining that Methodism was rooted within its traditions. In his early ministry, he faced opposition, being denied the opportunity to preach in many parish churches. However, over time, he gained widespread respect, and by the end of his life, he was known as "the best-loved man in England."
Including a biographical account of Wesley's life, discussing his early life, education, reproducing his journal, and discussing the 'particulars of his death, and his character', his sermons, his letters and correspondence, and his discussion of the doctrine of original sin.

Offsetting from removed adhesive tape to title page of volume I, XI. Pages of volumes I-III lightly age toned, with the odd spot. Tide marks to volume VII title page. Handling marks to volume XII and XIII title pages, with losses of paper to title page tail of volume XIII.
