A new edition of this fictional political satire by Thomas More, first published in 1516. The work depicts a fictional island and its religious and social customs. The work was written as a scathing attack on 16th century European society and More's perception of its greed and corruption. 

A smart set of this influential work.

Condition

In full calf. Externally generally smart, with rubbing to the joints and extremities, resulting in slight loss to leather, particularly to the head and tail of the spine. Cracking to joints. Slight lifting to spine labels. Evidence of bookplate removal to front paste downs. Internally binding strained in places. The occasional pencil annotation. Scattered spotting, heavier to the occasional leaf.
