This is a handsomely bound copy of The Book of Common Prayer, containing the breadth of Anglican liturgy contained in one concise volume.
John Reeves (1752-1829) was the King’s Printer for the Book of Common Prayer and the Bible. He issued numerous high-quality editions in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
This 1807 printing was sold by G. and W. Nicol, Booksellers to the King, and Scratcherd & Letterman, both were prominent London booksellers at the time.
Condition
Bound in a full straight grained morocco binding. Externally, very smart. The odd handling mark to boards, Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities heavier to joints and head and tail of spine. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper from 1820. One or two spots to endpapers. Slight offsetting to verso of title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots to fore edge.
