    A very scarce fourteen volume edition of Shakespeare's comedies, histories, and tragedies.

    A delightful edition of the works of the world's pre-eminent dramatist, being the very scarce edition with notes and critical commentary from various critics, edited by Manley Wood.

    Volume I illustrated with five plates; volume II illustrated with seven; volume II illustrated with seven; volume III illustrated with six; volume IV illustrated with six; volume V illustrated with six; volume VI illustrated with six; volume VII illustrated with seven; volume VIII illustrated with six; volume I illustrated with seven; five to volume X; four to volume XI; five to volume XII; four to volume XIII, and four to volume XIV.

    Collated, complete. Illustrated with eighty-five plates in total, rather than the seventy-four plates called for to the start of volume I. 

    A wonderful edition of Shakespeare's dramatic works.

    Condition

    In half morocco bindings with marbled paper covered boards, and gilt detailing to back strips. Externally, lovely. Back strips of volumes III, XI, XIII and XIV lightly faded. Light rubbing to joints of volumes III, XI, XIII and XIV . Front hinge of volumes III, XI, XIII and XIV strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type. Significant spotting to each volume, most concentrated to first and last few leaves and pages surrounding plates. Tide marks throughout volume X, XI, XII, and to plates of volume XIII.
