An educational work on the history of the Royal Navy, providing biographical descriptions of the important lieutenants and command stations of the Royal Navy in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.
Volume I is illustrated with a frontispiece, and eighteen plates.
Volume II is illustrated with a frontispiece, and twenty-one plates.
Collated, complete.

Condition
In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, a little worn and rubbed. Lacking one spine label to Volume I. Lifting to the head of the rear joint of Volume I. Minor bumping to the extremities. Spines are a little discoloured. Chips to the spine label of Volume II. Light marks to the boards and spines. Hinges are starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste downs. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with scattered spots. Frontispiece to page 2 in Volume I are detached but present, as are pages 455 to 458.
