Complete in two volumes.

Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, and eight plates. Seven of the plates are called for, this volume including one additional plate fading page 176. 

Volume II illustrated with a frontispiece, and six plates.

Collated, complete.

Including a 'Life of Daniel Defoe' to the rear of Volume II, by George Chalmers.

'Robinson Crusoe' is a popular travelogue-style novel, seeing Crusoe's struggles as he spends twenty-eight years on a remote tropical desert island.

The novel is thought to be based off the experiences of the Scottish castaway Alexander Selkirk.

Written by the noted eighteenth century author Daniel Defoe, one of the first novelists of the English language.

Illustrated by Medland after Thomas Stothard.

Condition

In a quarter morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, fine, with light fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean, with the occasional scattered spot.
