Illustrated, Leather Binding

An interesting work that showcase the park of Weston-Underwood in Buckinghamshire, where William Cowper spent the last years of his life.

Illustrated with a vignette title page, and twelve plates.

Cowper is a revered English poet and hymnodist

With a brief description of the author's life.

Most of the illustrations are by James Storer and John Greig.

Bookplate to the front pastedown, 'P. R. Glazebrook'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper, 'James Forsythe Wilson, Belfast, 1886'.

Condition

In a full morocco binding. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the spine. Minor marks to the boards and spine. A little bumping to the extremities. Light discolouration to the spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with some spots.
