Derham examines various aspects of nature, including the intricacies of the human body, celestial phenomena, and the behaviour of animals, presenting them as evidence of intelligent design and divine providence.     Illustrated with three plates to volume I, and thirteen plates to volume II. Collated, complete.

    Retaining the original half titles.

    With the bookplates of Peter Leigh to front pastedowns.

    Condition

    In full calf bindings. Major rubbing to back strips and board perimeters. Small losses of leather to back strip heads and tails. Joints of volume I starting. Rear joint of volume I tenderly held to head only, with front board firmly held. Hinges of volume II strained but firmly held. Bookplates to front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
