Bound in contemporary full calf, retaining original blanks and endpapers.

Written by William Marshall, who published six studies on the farming practices of different regions of England from 1788 to 1798, which remain important historical resources on English agriculture. This work covers the West of England, including Devonshire, Somersetshire, Dorsetshire and Cornwall. The works discuss the topography of the land, the state of the villages, food, employment and the state of society, public works such as public mills and roads, harvesting, vegetable produce and fish, and much more.

Condition

Bound in contemporary full calf, retaining original blanks and endpapers. Externally excellent with light marks to the spines and boards, and light cracking and fading to the spines. The odd spot to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot.
