A lovely copy of French-English lexicographer Abel Boyer's dictionary, which was first published in 1699. This work is presented in two parts, bound together, with individual title pages.

Part I consists of Boyer's French-English dictionary, and volume II of the English to French dictionary.

Best known for this reference work originally published in 1699, the dictionary has been the basis of many subsequence French-English dictionaries.

Condition

In a full tree calf binding. Small losses of calf to back strip tail. Joint heads starting, with boards firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Tide mark to fore edge of volume I frontispiece. Pages clean and bright.
