Written by radical satirist Charles Pigott, an ardent supporter of the French Revolution.
Comprising of the complete three parts bound together in one volume:
Part I, present in the third edition, ESTC N47232. Lacking the half title.
Part II, present in the third edition, ESTC T76062.
Part II, present in the second edition, ESTC T76061.
With the bookplate of Ernest Hutton to the front pastedown, and a former owner's inscription to the title page of volume I.
With a 1793 inscription to the head of the front free endpaper, describing the publisher H. Symonds's sentencing to 'Newgate, for publishing Paine's works, and the Jockey Club'.
Condition
In a half vellum binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, significantly age toned. Bookplate to front pastedown, inscription to front free endpaper head. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to volume I title page. Pages clean and bright.
