    Description

    Illustrated, Leather Binding

    Volumes 1, 3, 5, 7, and 11 to 13 from the works of Pietro Metastasio. Published in Italian, with a frontispiece to volume 1. The present collection contains several libretti by the Italian poet, including Didone Abbandonata and Artaserse, the latter of which has been set to music by over ninety composers. Alongside the Libretti Il Re Pastore, the collection also includes the plays Amor Prigioniero, Giustino and several cantatas by the poet. With some worming to the front of volume 11, and throughout volume 12. Aside from some page numbers, the text is unaffected.

    Condition

    In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the boards of volume 13, with some light rubbing to the head of the spines. There is a small chip in the calf to the head of volume 13. Internally, firmly bound, with some worming to the rear of volume 11 and throughout volume 12. Pages are bright and clean throughout.
