A single volume abridged edition of the accounts of Cook's famous voyages, covering the first voyage of 1768-1771, and the second voyage of 1772-1775.

Including an abridgement of Capt. Furneaux's narrative, and of the narrative of Commodore Phipps.

With nineteen pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

A wonderful late eighteenth century account of Cook's voyages aboard the HMS Resolution and HMS Endeavour, published less than a decade after Cook's death.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Significant rubbing to back strip and board perimeters. Small losses of leather to back strip head and tail. Joints starting, with boards firmly held. Vertical splits in back strip leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, but otherwise generally clean, with instances of light spotting, most concentrated to pages surrounding plates.
