An interesting account of chivalry from Jean-Baptiste de La Curne de Sainte-Palaye. In this work, the author used ancient sources to provide a picture of chivalrous acts, compiling myths, legends and ancient histories, telling tales of Kings, Knights, tournaments and heroes, though all are considered to be works of fiction.
Condition
Bound in full contemporary calf. Externally, front joint weak, rear starting, loss to spine label, with rubbing to the extremities, joints and spine, and slight marks to the boards. Remnants of label to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot. Ink initials to the title page.
