    'Pharmacopoeia Officinalis and Extemporanea' is a work that offers a complete account of the materia medica, and of therapeutics, a usual medical work that was very popular was it was published, and was widely used by doctors.

    Many of the prescriptions contained in this work were very popular and used by doctors.

    Written by John Quincy, an English apothecary who was skilful in the arrangement and making of drugs in prescriptions. He practiced medicine in London. He also published 'Lexicon Physico-Medicum', and 'Medico-Physical Essays'.

    Title page, advertisement and several pages to the rear laid down, with loss, though not effecting text of title or ad. Lacking several pages of the Index, includes index from A-P only.

    Condition

    Bound in full modern calf. Endpapers and blanks renewed. Externally very smart with marks to the rear board. Internally, two pages to rear disbound but present, lacking several pages of the index to the rear, otherwise firmly bound with title page, advertisement, and several pages to the rear laid down, with slight loss to those pages, though title and ad not effecting text. Pages, age toned with the odd spot and mark. Wax stamp to rear page.
