A first edition thus, being the first collected edition devoted to Goldsmith's plays and poetry to be printed in London.
With a title page and half title to each volume, and with an engraved portrait frontispiece to volume I.
Volume I is devoted to the poetry of Goldsmith, while volume II features his dramatic works, such as 'The Good-Natur'd Man' and 'She Stoops to Conquer'.

With the armorial bookplate of H. F. Davies to the front pastedown.
Handsomely bound in tree calf.
Condition
In a full tree calf binding. Externally, lovely. Light rubbing to back strip head and tail, with joint heads starting, but boards firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd spot and handling mark. Spotting to first few leaves of volume II.
