Description

Leather Binding

To which is added an appendix containing some observations on the general probability of life. John Smart was a pioneer of the actuarial science and his original tables, published in 1724, underwent many revisions to be used throughout the trade.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding. Externally, worn with heavy rubbing, bumping and some loss to spine and extremities. Hinges failed and boards held by cords only. Internally, binding generally firm although strained in places. Pages spotted throughout although heavier at first and last few pages.
