'The Pilgrim's Progress' is a Christian allegory which has become one of the most significant works in the English literature, being translated into over two-hundred languages, and never being out of print since its initial publication in 1678. It is second only to the Bible in popularity in Christian literature works.
John Bunyan was a Puritan preacher, as is best known for his work 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. He was jailed after the restoration of the monarchy as he refused to give up preaching him nonconformist ideas. He spent twelve years in jail during this stint, during which he begun work on 'Progress'.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean, with a few scattered spots. Tidemark to the folding plate.
