First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

The first separate edition of this very scarce work.

The discourses in this work had previously been published in 1649 in 'Theological Lectures'. This work contains a total of seventeen essays, including 'Of the Right Intention', 'The Christian Sacrifice', 'The Prevalent Passion', 'Awake to Righteousness', and more.

By the Anglican divine John Heylyn, who was known was the "Mystic Doctor" due to his interest in mysticism. He was much admired by the Methodist John Wesley.

Bookplate of Lady Killraick to the front paste down.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the boards, including a couple of small dampstains to the head of the front board. Spine is a little worn. Minor bumping to the extremities. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with scattered spots.
