This collection is labelled as an additional volume of letters from English aristocrat, writer and medical pioneer, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu. This volume was intended as a supplement for the three-volume set of Letters published in 1763.

Published after her death in 1762, this additional volume allegedly contains writings from additional manuscripts. However, while the poetry is considered truthfully Lady Montagues, the letters are widely considered to be falsified. It is unknown whether the publisher was aware of this fact at the time of publishing.

Bound in full calf. 

With the bookplate of Lucy Hutton, with an ink inscription, possibly of Hutton's to the verso of the title page stating 'This 4th volume is not the work of Lady Mary Montagu'.
