Authored by John Hammond, with continuations and enlargements from Samuel Warner.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and with six folding plates to the rear. Collated, lacking six folding plates.
The work covers the use of mathematical calculation and geometrical instruments for measuring and mapping land, explaining procedures such as chain surveying, plotting, triangulation and the determination of areas and boundaries.

Condition
In a contemporary full calf binding. Minor loss of calf to back strip tail, with light rubbing to joints and board perimeters. Head of rear joint starting, with board firmly held. Front hinge strained but firmly held. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned due to paper type, but clean. Lacking six folding plates.
