Arranged as sixty-five precepts, this work contains essays drawn from eighteenth century periodicals including the Gentleman's Magazine and The Spectator, while others are adapted from works of literature such as 'Clarissa' and 'Sir Charles Grandison'.
With three pages of advertisements to the rear.

In a full calf binding. Significant rubbing to rear board. Back strip age toned. Joints starting, with front board a touch tender, with rear board firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean and bright, with only the odd light handling mark to page perimeters.
