1757 1757 Almanac
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Very Scarce
A very scarce work, a disbound accordion binding, with the limp full calf binding. Ink inscription to the third and fifteenth pages. An almanac for 1757, detailing Saints Days, moon phases and eclipses, weather forecasts, reigns of British monarchs, a table of terms and returns, interest rates, and the value of Portugal pieces of gold in English pounds, shillings and pence. The pages are disbound from the limp calf binding, but are attached to one another in their accordion binding. A fascinating work for those interested in the mid-18th century.
Condition
Disbound accordion binding, with the limp full calf binding. Externally, losses to the tail of the spine to the calf binding, and rubbing to the extremities and spine. A couple of inscriptions have marked the leather to the front of the binding. Pages 14 and 15 are detached, and page 13 has a couple of closed tears to the fold of the accordion binding, but the rest are attached. Pages are generally fairly bright and clean, except for the first and last two pages, which are age toned.
