What Our Customers Say...

Description

A 1755 edition of this work, disbound but internally firmly bound and intact.

A mid-eighteenth century edition of George Villier's satirical play 'The Rehearsal', which he wrote during the Restoration.

George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham (1628-1687) used this play to poke fun at John Dryden, and the moralistic and ambitious theatre of the Restoration, particularly Restoration tragedies.

The play was published anonymously, but it is certain that George Villiers penned it.

Condition

Disbound but internally firmly bound and intact. Externally generally smart, with remnants of the backstrip to the spine, and marks to the front page and last page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
