    The third edition of this work, which was first published in 1741, and is uncommon in all contemporary editions.

    Text in both the original Latin and also translated into English by Martyn.

    Illustrated with ten plates, three of which are folding. Collated, complete.

    With the bookplate of Roland Hunt to the front pastedown. 

    A wonderful edition of Virgil's poem about agriculture and the natural world, with commentary and notes from Martyn on botany and agriculture.

    Condition

    In a contemporary calf binding with gilt detailing to back strip. Minor loss of calf to back strip tail, and further loss to head of rear joint. Rear joint head and tail starting, with board firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
