'Paradise Lost' is an epic blank verse poem, concerning the biblical Fall of Man, with the temptation of Adam and Even, and their subsequent expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and twelve plates. Collated, complete.

Written by John Milton, a seventeenth century English poet, who is best known for this poem. He wrote during a period of political upheaval and religious flux in England, with the English Civil War.

Condition

In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, rubbed to the boards and spine. A small amount of loss to the spine label. Very light bumping to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Extremities are a little age-toned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half-title.
