What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

The vanishingly scarce first edition of this work. A more common second edition was published in 1758.

An impressive account of the English peerage and nobility, detailing the names of the nobility, alongside their marriages, issues, ancestors, posts, arms, motto's, and chief seats.

With an extensive index to the rear.

ESTC N478420

Rebacked, with endpapers renewed, but with engraved armorial bookplate laid down to front free endpaper.

The work of Nathanael Salmon, an English antiquary who was industrious and well travelled, but not respected by the scholarly community.

Condition

Rebacked, in a contemporary panelled calf binding. Endpapers renewed. Externally, excellent. Armorial bookplate laid down to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, with only the odd light handling mark.
