Illustrated with monochrome engraved frontispieces to three of the works.
This volume features a collection of four eighteenth century tragic plays, including John Hugh's 1720 tragedy inspired by Simon Ockley's work 'Conquest of Syria, Shore's historical tragedy about the mistress of Edward IV, and others.
Bound in contemporary quarter calf with marbled paper to the boards.
Condition
Bound in contemporary quarter calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, rubbing to the boards and extremities, staining to the spine, and rear joint starting only slightly. Front free endpaper starting. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd minor handling mark and spot. Owner's signature to the title page of 'Damascus', with frontispiece closely cropped, causing slight loss.
