The first separate edition, with the called for publisher's error to the date, which reads' MDCDXLIV' rather than 'MDCCXLIV'. The work was first published within Burch's 'The Works of the Honourable Robert Boyle', with this being the first time it was published as it's own work.
A biography on the life of Robert Boyle by Thomas Birch. Boyle was a seventeenth century philosopher and pioneering chemist and physicist, who is considered to be the first modern chemist. He is best known for 'Boyle's Law', which is a gas law which describes the relationship between pressure and volume of confined gas.
Bound in modern cloth, with endpapers and blanks renewed, and a library location to the spine. The usual library labels and stamps within.

Bound in modern cloth, with endpapers and blanks renewed. Externally excellent with library location to the tail of the spine. 'General Theological Seminary Library' bookplate, stamps and labels to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with a tape repair to the title page, the odd library stamp and an owner's signature to the front. Pages clean and generally bright.
