What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Very Scarce

A vanishingly scarce, anonymously authored work.

Priced at one shilling and attributed to the printer Henry Woodfall, based on the ornamental design to the head of leaf B, this is a political pamphlet aiming to defend and vindicate the reputations of the political establishment in a period of upheaval in Britain, marked by Sir Robert Walpole's resignation.

ESTC T84455

The author, likely allied with the establishment, cautions against the formation of a new opposition, suggesting that such movements could destabilize the nation's governance.

Condition

Rebound, in cloth backed paper covered boards, with endpapers renewed. Paper residue to back strip, otherwise externally excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Title page age toned to head. Pages a touch age toned due to paper type, otherwise clean and bright.
