This important legal work systematically outlines the laws and administration of royal forests in England.
It explains the statutes and common-law principles in force at the time, but also traces the origins of forests, and differentiates them from chases, parks and warrens.

In a full calf binding. Minor loss of calf to back strip head and tail, otherwise externally excellent. Tail of front joint starting, with board firmly held. Stamp to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Half title and title page have been washed, with remaining leaves lightly age toned due to paper type.
