'Traite de Jeu' is a curious treatise by Jean Barbeyrac, in which he defences the morality of games of chance. This concise work explores the morality and philosophy behind gambling, how people abuse it, and how it can be a fun pastime if practiced sensibly.
Barbeyrac was a jurist and translator.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. Minor bumping to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Spine is discoloured. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional scattered spot.
