Richard Glover's best known work, an epic poem retelling the story of the Battle of Thermopylae. The famous ancient battle was fought in 480BC between Sparta and the Achaemenid Persian Empire. 

Bound in full contemporary calf.

Condition

Bound in full contemporary calf. Externally, joints cracked but only starting, with light marks to the boards and bumping and mild edge wear, lacking spine label. Owner's signature to the front free endpaper, which is starting, with scattered spotting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
