The work traces the cathedral's foundation, construction, and alterations, accompanied by engraved views, monuments, and epitaphs.

Rebacked, in a full calf binding, with endpapers renewed.
With the bookplate of the Right Honourable Viscount Montague to the front pastedown, this is likely the bookplate of Mark Browne, 9th Viscount Montague, the last holder of the title.
Dart provides biographical notices of archbishops and notable figures connected with the church, as well as accounts of the monastic buildings and their dissolution.
Condition
Rebacked, in a fill calf binding, with endpapers renewed. Externally, excellent. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright and generally clean, with the odd spot to page perimeters.
