What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Leather Binding
The first edition of this work.
In this work, Anstis presents his idea of creating the Order of the Bath, prompted by his friendship with the Duke of Montagu. Robert Walpole supported this, as creating the order reduced the Duke of Montagu's financial claims on the government for a failed attempt at colonial expansion.
Anstis here draws statutes for the order.
The order was founded by King George I on 18 May 1725.
