A useful guide for the use of scriveners, detailing the forms used in many different legal situations, and how one should write them. These include indentures, bankruptcy, grants, jointures, petitions, memorials, wills, and more. This was the standard work on the subject at the time.

Written by Nicholas Covert, the first edition of this work was published in 1695.

This edition was revised and corrected by William Bohun.

Bookplate to the front paste down.

Condition

In a rebacked calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Boards are a little discoloured with minor marks, and evidence of former loss. Small damp stains to the rear board. Tidemark to the gutter of the paste downs and endpapers. Bookplate to the front paste down. Ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Very small patch of worming to the tail of the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean.
