This piece of social history offers a fascinating insight into the social expectations of noble men and women of the early 18th century.

Condition

In a contemporary panelled calf binding. Gilt detailing to back strip. Small losses of calf to back strip head and tail, with worm hole to back strip tail. Lacking spine label. Joints starting, with boards only a touch tender. Inscription to front free endpaper. Worming to tail of front free endpaper penetrating through to page 172, but not affecting text. Pages otherwise lightly age toned, with the odd handling mark.
