A collection of scarce works from Edmund Smith, an English poet. This collection includes his best known work 'Phaedra and Hippolitus', a play which was first performed in 1707, and was a translation of Racine's French dramatic tragedy 'Phedre'. The work also includes; 'A Poem on the Death of Mr. Philips', 'Bodelian Speech', and 'Pocockius', and a memoir of the character of Edmund Smith written by a Mr. Oldisworth.
The register runs as; A- A8, [3 unnumbered], B- E12, F-F6. Collated, complete.
Condition
Bound in full modern cloth. Endpapers renewed. Externally lovely. Binder's stamp to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned and generally clean pages with light handling marks and slight loss to pp. 81.
