Illustrated with an engraved vignette to the title page. 

An early eighteenth century French-English dictionary by Abel Boyer, being the best known work of this lexicographer and author. This noted reference work was considered to be superior to the previous works of its kind, and became the inspiration for many subsequent French-English dictionaries. 

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards.

Condition

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Endpapers and blanks renewed. Externally, slight wear to the extremities, with cracking to the spine. Bookplate of Lady Evelyn and John Farthing to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with minimal age toning and generally clean pages with only the odd spot, heavier to the title page.
