What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Leather Binding
The fifth edition of this work, which was first published in 1671.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and nine engraved plates. Collated, lacking the portrait plate that should appear facing the 'Poems, &c. upon Several Occasions' title page.
Sharing similar theological themes to Milton's earlier 'Paradise Lost', the poem uses blank verse to deal with the temptation of Christ, as recounted in the Gospel of Luke.
