Two volumes bound in one.

In the original French, published in Amsterdam.

A devotional guide on the communion by Jean le Placette, a preacher and pastor known for his intelligence and kindness.

Volume I focuses on the nature and necessity of communion and how to prepare for it, whilst Volume II looks at what one must do after communion.

Register runs as: *2-*11, A-K12, A-H12, I6.

Collated, lacking the title page to Volume I, and the two plates.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Exetenally, generally smart. Light bumping to the extremities, resulting in some loss, heavier to the bottom edge of the front board. A small amount of loss to the tail of the spine, and a small chip to the leather of the rear board. Light rubbing and a few minor marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Ink to the front paste down. Small tidemark to the rear endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional scattered spot and handling mark. The first gathering of the second volume is working loose. Lacking the front endpaper, title page, and the two plates.
